YOUR ANNUAL OPPORTUNITY

TO GIVE MORE THAN YOU THINK

I love sharing with CBM supporters the many stories about how together we are transforming lives and communities. Sometimes I get asked about whether any one person can truly make a difference when the needs of the world are so great. I can tell you from firsthand experience visiting the field, the answer is yes.

Change often starts with just one faithful person. One person whom God moves to act. One person who sacrifices to help someone in need. One life that gets transformed by an act of generosity and compassion.

Today you can be that one, for someone.

Warmly, in Christ’s Mission,

HERE ARE JUST 5 WAYS THAT $100 SUPPORTS HOPE AND HEALING IN A BROKEN WORLD

YOU COULD SUPPLY CLEAN WATER FOR A SOMALI REFUGEE FAMILY IN KENYA.

Clean water is a basic human right. However, for many in our world it feels like a luxury that they cannot access. A simple water filter can help families prevent disease (particularly in children and infants), improve sanitation and empower girls and women who spend the majority of their day collecting water from distant sources, thereby freeing them to focus on livelihoods and education.

YOU COULD GIVE HOPE AND A BETTER FUTURE TO A PRISON KID IN BOLIVIA.

A child whose parent is in prison carries deep shame and stigma which often leads to despair. Many of them drop out of school to help support their families and care for their younger siblings. Provide educational support, nutritious meals and medical, spiritual and emotional care.

YOU COULD EXTEND THE WITNESS OF A LOCAL CHURCH IN THE GLOBAL SOUTH.

Local churches all over the world act as salt and light in broken communities. They minister with scarce resources in unimaginable circumstances such as conflict, disease and poverty. Support from their Canadian brothers and sisters provides them with encouragement and the funds needed to effectively reach people with the good news of Jesus.

YOU COULD GIVE SOMEONE ACCESS TO MEDICATION FOR A LONGER AND HEALTHIER LIFE.

The AIDS pandemic has largely dropped from public consciousness in Canada, but it has not disappeared. Last year, 43% of new HIV infections occurred in Eastern and Southern Africa. However, having HIV is no longer a death sentence if you have access to antiretroviral medication.

YOU COULD FEED A SYRIAN REFUGEE FAMILY FOR ONE MONTH IN LEBANON.

Many refugee families in our country will experience their first Canadian Christmas this year. However, in Lebanon, millions of Syrian refugees are still struggling to rebuild their lives. This monthly box of food staples ensures a family will receive adequate nutrition.
